I’m feeling pretty restless today. Even the cats seem anxious.

Pina’s going stir crazy.

Marty’s feeling cabin fever as am I. All my yoga, healthy eating and meditation are barely cutting it. Am lusting for my own swimming pool. With all the gyms shut down, my access to lap swimming has evaporated. First World Problems, huh?

I’m juicing and eating organic to level out all the environmental anxiety.

We’re in Santa Ana, which isn’t in the top 3 of infections…yet.

Since we are a mainly working class city with a much lower median income than the rest of wealthier Orange County, it’s likely that the COVID numbers in Santa Ana are much lower than they should be. Access to health care is a challenge for much of our population and we currently don’t have drive-thru testing available. As soon as testing becomes more widely available, the numbers are sure to soar.

What shopping looks like these days. Payan all suited up for a produce run.

A friend of ours volunteers for CERT, the civilian Emergency Rescue corps, and she went over proper consumer PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Among her recommendations:

– Clear plastic hooded rain poncho

– Surgical gloves

– Face mask

– Face mask cover (a T-shirt folded and clipped so it covers nose, mouth & neck)

– Goggles (use a thin layer of petroleum jelly, vitamin e or liquid detergent so they don’t fog up)

Once purchases are made & deposited in car, all these PPE protective items are carefully removed (gloves last), turned inside out & placed in large bag in trunk so car doesn’t get contaminated. Upon returning home, shoes are removed, sprayed down w disinfectant (or placed in a pan holding a bleach/water solution) & left out in the sun. All clothing is removed & gets washed immediately. Shopper V then gets a decontaminating shower (hair included).

All packaged food is wiped down with Clorox wipes or sprayed/wiped w alcohol. before being brought inside. All produce is put into an immersive cleaning solution. The protective items in trunk are then placed in full sun to sterilize.

All my Conspiracy Theory research & Junior AFROTC training came in handy!

Big thanks to CERT for helping us develop our decontamination protocol.

Stay safe everyone!
