It’s only been a day and my mom is loosing it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I call her “My Teenage Mom” because, even tho she’s a retired woman of a certain age, Marty’s reverted to moody, rebellious behavior and temper tantrums galore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today I caught her trying to sneak out to the panaderia<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“What are you doing? You’re not going anywhere.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s dramatic yelling and doors get slammed. My Teenage Mom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I may have to take her car keys away! Lolz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jiffy Blueberry and Cornbread muffins<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I baked Marty some blueberry and cornbread muffins. She cheered up immediately. Fresh bread is calming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baking is especially soothing at this time. It helps me pretend we are choosing this confinement to be cozy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The skies this morning were deceptively beautiful, fooling us into thinking nothing is wrong. It’s hard to believe this gorgeous world has turned deadly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This afternoon we teach a Media Arts Santa Ana<\/a> workshop on Zoom<\/a>. We started this course a few weeks ago, meeting in person with a dozen students at Santa Ana’s Grand Central Art Center<\/a>. Now we all convene online. It’s surreal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
