Our illusion of privilege has been pierced by harsh reality. Our hospitals and health care workers have no PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) or masks! As a result, state and <a href=\"https:\/\/occovid19.ochealthinfo.com\/medical-supply-providers-we-need-your-help\">county agencies<\/a> have been asking the public for contributions like basic cleaning supplies, trash bags, gloves and masks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>America, the apex of 20th century pop culture appears to be bankrupt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We got screwed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Janelle Mon\u00e1e - Screwed (feat. Everyone from Stay-At-Home Moms to Performance Artists to Quinceanera Designers are creating a variety of masks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among these Mothers of Invention is the amazing <a href=\"http:\/\/kristinawong.com\/\">Kristina Wong<\/a>. In addition to being a fabulous performer, elected representative and the creator of online cult classic &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=t5TFcvB-kZg&amp;list=PLPW9Ncg5SLWTKCleNRUVqI-sv9zxu57Fe\">Radical Cram School<\/a>,&#8221; Ms Wong is now a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/teada-talks-creative-lab-tips-from-artists-on-coping-with-isolation-tickets-103388443618\">Sweatshop Overlord<\/a>. She has become the hub for Statewide efforts to source mask-making material and mail these out it to &#8220;Aunties&#8221; who volunteer to sew a variety of mask designs. Am looking forward to making use of my textile skills in this effort.
